Another fascinating race day hanging out with the Joe Gibbs Racing Crew as they were humpin’ it for #18 Ryan Truex during the Alsco Uniforms 300 Xfinity Series Race at Las Vegas Speedway, Sat March 5, 2022.
The engines roared and rumbled the turf beneath me, as tires squealed and lifted the aroma of burnt rubber in the air.
Ryan did a masterful job until his #18 car gave way to something that let loose from the rear end, thrusting him toward the wall, causing a major crash with several cars involved on lap 190 right at the end of the race, he was hanging’ tight with a chance to take the lead until the sudden mishap.
I’m currently finishing up a major project for a racing company that specializes in covering races in the desert. 305 hours in and counting, it should be completed within a couple of weeks, it has been a joy.
Upon completion of this, I will start a 12 track library for NASCAR as most tracks will be of the 60 second nature, but all with a slightly different twist, can’t wait to change the pace!
I love hanging out in the pit with the crews, giving me the real vibe and inspiration for this upcoming library. Have been a real racing fan all my life, from the time I was a little kid, from motorcycles, sprint cars, to Indy and F1, as my father sponsored sprint cars in the 60’s, Willie Hunsinger ring a bell with anybody?
