The 2022 Winter NAMM show has been rescheduled to June 2022, and will take place in Anaheim, California.

The date change means that Summer NAMM, which usually takes place in Nashville, Tennessee, will now coincide with Winter NAMM on 3-5 June. As the show will take place in Anaheim, it will retain the same scale as the usual Winter NAMM. With the two events now combined, organisers of the event think that this will be an event “you will not want to miss”.

Winter NAMM has been postponed due to uncertainties of COVID-19 in the United States, particularly in relation to the Delta variant and the strain’s potential impact on national and international travel. Although COVID-19 restrictions are gradually lifting across the globe, some areas remain unpredictable, which could affect attendees who are arriving from outside the US. Advertisement

Joe Lamond, CEO and president of NAMM, said in a statement: “The industry has not stopped evolving and innovating during the pandemic, and The NAMM Show is evolving, as well.

“As the health and safety of our members remains top of mind, and after carefully listening to companies here in the US and around the world, the new dates will help members maximize their opportunity and accelerate what has arguably been a transformative time both in new products and in how they come to market.

“I imagine this gathering will have the kind of impact of a Beatles moment or the introduction of MIDI – definitely one you will not want to miss.”

Despite the NAMM Show no longer taking place in winter, the association will host a one-day live stream event on 21 January. The Believe In Music stream, which follows from 2021’s Belive In Music week, will host workshops and presentations across this brief period.
